Day 5

It’s the start of my 5th day in giving up the cigarettes and so far this week I have dramatically struggled and pushed my will power to the limit. During the first three days I went through about 10 cigarettes which cost me £2.50. Usually I would of easily spent at least £16.00 during this time and have managed to save myself £14 in just three days.

My biggest achievement was Day 4 (Thursday 25th June) which I didn’t have one single cigarette all day and as I wrote this on the start of Day 5 my mind keeps telling me to light up.

I have been very dependent on my e-cigarette, and at the the same I have been eating a lot more than normal just to bypass the urge to smoke, but I am pleased to report that serious progress has been made.

I am very close to being on target to saving around £35 within my first 7 days of giving up.

Well done Gary. It isn't your mind telling you to light up it's your nicotine addiction. You need to tell your mind that you don't want to light up and that you have something better now with the e-cig. Maybe if you tried a day or 2 with patches to lose the habits you will find far less dependency upon e-cigs. I put some weight on but it's already starting to come off with the help of my Wii Fit.

Thanks Trish! I've had the nicotine patch on today. I haven't smoked today, but I've been happy today so that was a good reason not to bother lighting up.
