Smokers Are Applauding The Electric Cigarette

Finally, smokers have a viable choice other than tobacco cigarettes. The electric cigarette has provided them with a way to smoke without a lot of worries. Every smoker would probably like to quit, that is a whole lot easier said than done. So, many of them usually end up going back to cigarettes, sometimes even after they have been quit for months or longer. With the electric cigarette, they can continue to smoke for as long as they want to. If they want to quit, they can do that too.

The thing about an electronic cigarette is the fact that there are so few ingredients in the nicotine liquid that is in the filter. This liquid is heated by a battery and an atomizer and this is what allows the smoker to get the nicotine they want. They do not have to also get all of the chemicals that are in tobacco because there is no tobacco in this smoking device. When a smoker lights a tobacco cigarette, it makes it carcinogenic. The tar that is produced is one of things that harms a smoker just like the many deadly chemicals that are also in the tobacco.

So, when a smoker can have the nicotine they crave, have the satisfaction of holding a cigarette in their hand, although it is a little different, the similarity is close enough that they get the same feeling when smoking a traditional one. They are a little heavier and perhaps slightly larger, but very close in resemblance. One of the biggest addictions a smoker has to smoking is emotional. They are accustomed to placing something in their mouth and holding something in their hands, or between their fingers. The electric cigarette satisfies all of the addictions with a lot less harm for the body.

There is also a limited odor associated with this smoking device. Since there is no part of it that is actually burned, it does not produce smoke in the traditional sense. It has a water vapor that quickly disappears. It is thought to be harmless to others by many researchers, so there is not much concern at all about secondhand smoke. Another factor about this product is that is costs about half as much as smoking tobacco cigarettes. This is something else that smokers are applauding. All of these reason combined are what is causing so many to give this product a try and many are wishing that it had came along a lot sooner.

Why Not Make Losing Weight And Quitting Cigarettes A Doubleheader

How tough do you think you are really? Some people think that quitting smoking cigarettes is the hardest thing to do, while others would swear it has to be losing weight. What if you were brave enough to try and do both at the same time? A person would have to be crazy to do that, right? Not necessarily. It would all depend on the person and what is driving them. If you went to the doctor and he told you to lose weight and quit smoking or one or both of them was going to kill you, that might be the motivation you need to tackle it all at once.

This desperate scenario might sound a little far fetched, but actually it is not. People that smoke can be overweight too and when they are damaging their body in both ways, it can get to the point when something has to be done. It would be entirely possible to accomplish both goals at the same time when your life is at stake. People that smoke know that eventually it will probably kill them, but that seems a long time away until the doctor tells you the time to quit is now. Overweight people can many times end up with terribly high cholesterol, diabetes, gastrointestinal problems and more. Combine these conditions with smoking issues such as shortness of breath, sinus conditions, and acid reflux, and you have one unhealthy person.

Whether or not you have the willpower to try and tackle both problems at once is up to the individual. If you try to lose weight, but do not stop smoking, you are still at risk. If you stop smoking, but continue to be overweight, you are still at risk. The longer it takes you to get both conditions under control, the greater risk you are continuing to take with your health. Your goal is to get your life back under control and be a healthier person as soon as possible.

While it very well might be too much to take on quitting smoking cold turkey and start a stricter diet at the same time, there are other approaches. You might try cutting back drastically on the number of cigarettes you have a day and exercise instead.  Cut out the majority of junk foods, the size of your meals, and drink plenty of water. Many people that try to quit smoking end up overeating and gaining too much weight, which defeats the purpose of giving up cigarettes. People who start a diet can end up smoking more if they already do. This defeats the purpose of losing weight. The two should go hand in hand. Let exercise and a proper diet take the place of smoking and overeating and you really might be able to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak.

Day 14

I can’t really say I have been 100% smoke free during the past 14 days. But, I estimate to have been around 75% smoke free, hence I’ve smoked 75% less than normal.

When at home I find it easy not to smoke, cause I’m busy at my computer working on my websites and doing stuff I enjoy so that is distracting me from the need to smoke.

My biggest struggle is at work where I am under so much pressure and suffering so much problems which is dramatically affecting my working performance and attitude whilst at work.

I am an Assistant Manager for a Frozen Food Specialist store and there isn’t a lot of us who work there, and we are taking a lot of dosh through the tills and serving a lot of customers and senior management always want you to strive you to do even better, where we know it is near impossible to achieve as we simply have far too much work to do.

This has resulted in me getting stressed (which I must state that I do not get stressed easily) and it is so easy to just disappear out of the store for 10 minutes for a smoke and just visualise those 10 minutes of stress free aggrovation.

On one occasion! I even nipped out for a smoke using my e-cig and being honest that did nothing to relax me, I just wanted that real cigarette feeling, but I still opted to smoke the e-cig.

I’ve only been in this job for around 3 months and can’t see myself staying much longer. I’m either going to be dismissed due to not achieving my objectives or I’m gonna end up telling them to stick it. Although I don’t want any of these to happen, but in reality I no it will go in one of those directions.

I am now on the hunt for a new job in retail, but not of a managerial level. I want to be able to go to work with a clear head and go in with a great positive “can do” attitude and go home happy to do some more work on my sites and then do the same on the next day.

If anyone fancies a job swap then please let me know – I’ll be open to most offers.

I’m gonna continue this week to eliminate having smoke breaks at work. If I can crack that then I no I’ll be able to lead a smoke free life.

Giving Up Smoking 7 Weeks Smoke Free

Last weekend I went to stay at my daughters house for the first time since stopping smoking and caused a bit of consternation at the train station with my electronic cigarette. I’ve got that used to pulling it out of my pocket and taking an occasional puff I forgot that I was in public. You can read about my railway station experience if you click here.

It was my first experience of staying in the same house as a smoker since stopping smoking. My daughter smokes but so rarely and outside it didn’t really bother me being around her, and I wasn’t tempted with her cigarettes.

My 4 year old granddaughter Izzy was quite taken with my pretend cigarette. She couldn’t understand the concept and looked at me as if I was nuts when I tried to explain.

I’ve got to admit that last week was the toughest yet. It was very warm here, the heat was tiring to work in and made me feel cranky. On Thursday I felt so irritable that I put a patch on for the first time in a couple of weeks. Walking up to work in the early afternoon made me so warm that my skin was too damp for the patch to stick to and I was patchless and had no e cig for that 8 hour shift. Once I got stuck into work I felt fine and forgot about everything except work, I didn’t even get cranky with the staff!

Total savings now – £100

Here’s a challenge for you?

There are four  main reasons why people want to stop smoking:

  1. To save money
  2. To improve your health
  3. To improve your lifestyle
  4. To protect your family

I want you and me to focus on No 1 on saving money. I have brought myself a “Stop Smoking – Start Saving” tin which is the same size as a Heinz baked bean tin (400g). It has a little coin slot at the top of the tin. The beauty of this tin is that you can’t open it unless you have a can opener so whatever you put in the tin is hidden so you don’t even know how much your putting into it.

My challenge is I’m putting about 25% – 50% of what I would of spent in cigarettes and will not be opening this tin until 1st Sepetmebr and I will then be able to see exactly how much I have saved by not smoking.

I encourage you to do the same. The tin only costs £1.50(excluding postage)  (that’s cheaper than 10 cigs) and can be ordered by clicking here.

Once you have your tin set up, just keep putting a portion of what you would spend on smoking into the tin and then set yoruself a date say in a month or twos time when you open the tin to see how much you have saved. The result may surprise you.

I’m not just sticking pound coins in the tin. To my knowledge I have already put a £10 and £5 note in my tin, along with some loose change. I recon I have put about £18.00 in there, but that is a guess as I’m not keeping track of what goes in the tin and I just want the surprise on 1st September.

Now it’s your turn – challenge yourself to save by not smoking with the “Start Saving Tin” which can be purchased by clicking here.
